Sunnah regarding Umrah

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Hajj and Umrah performers are the guests of Allah. If they supplicate, He will accept their supplication, and if they seek His forgiveness, He will forgive them.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “One Umrah to the next is an expiation for the sins committed between them, and the reward for an accepted Hajj is Paradise.” (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim)

Umrah in Ramadan

Hazrat Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “My husband and his sons have gone to the court and left me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Performing Umrah in Ramadan is like performing Hajj with me.” (Al-Targheeb)

Method and Etiquette of Ihram

When you put on Ihram for Hajj or Umrah, first do the following:

Trim your hair, make a crown, trim your moustache, clean your pubic hair, and armpit hair. (Udiyah)
Take a bath with the intention of entering Ihram, or at least perform ablution,
then apply oil to your head and beard, comb your hair, and apply a perfume to your body and Ihram garments that will not wash off.
Men should take off their sewn clothes and tie a white garment over their navel as an apron, put on another garment, cover their head and both arms, and take off their shoes that hide the protruding bone on the back of their feet, and wear open-toed sandals that leave the bone exposed. Women should continue to wear sewn clothes and shoes.
If it is not a forbidden time, then cover your head with the intention of entering Ihram and pray two rak’ahs of voluntary prayers.
In the first rak’ah after Surah Al-Hamd Sharif, recite Surah Al-Kafirun, and in the second rak’ah recite Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad.
If it is a forbidden time, then make the intention for Umrah without praying the two Nafl rak’ahs. (Hayat)

Intention for Umrah

Now, uncover your head. However, keep both shoulders covered with a sheet, sit facing the Qiblah, and make the intention for Umrah like this: “O Allah! I intend to perform Umrah for Your pleasure. Make it easy for me and accept it!” (Hayat)

Immediately after this, recite Labbayk three times in a medium voice with the intention of entering the state of Ihram for Umrah,

“Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, la sharik laka labbayk, inna alhamd wa ni’ma laka wa almulk la sharik laka” (Hayat)

After this, recite Durood Shareef in a low voice and pray: “O Allah, I seek Your pleasure and Paradise and seek refuge in You from Your displeasure and Hell, and accept from me whatever supplications the Lord of the Worlds (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has asked or told me on this occasion, if any.” (Amen)

Ihram is complete

Now recite Talbiyah frequently, standing, kneeling, lying down, walking, ascending and descending, in all states of purity and impurity, especially after obligatory prayers. Men should recite it loudly and women should recite it softly, then recite Durood Sharif in a soft voice and make any supplication. Recite Talbiyah three times continuously whenever you recite it. (Hayat wa Indiya)

عمرہ کے متعلق سنتیں

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا

حج اور عمرہ کرنے والے اللہ تعالیٰ کے مہمان ہیں ۔ اگر وہ دعا کریں تو وہ ان کی دع

قبول فرمائے ۔ اگر وہ اس سے مغفرت مانگیں تو وہ ان کی مغفرت فرمائے ۔ (سنن ابن ماجہ )

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا

ایک عمرہ سے دوسرے عمرہ تک کفارہ ہو جاتا ہے، ان کے درمیان کے گناہوں کا اور حج مبرور (پاک اور مخلصانہ حج ) کا بدلہ تو بس جنت ہے۔ (صحیح بخاری ومسلم )

رمضان میں عمرہ

حضرت ام سلیم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئیں اور عرض کیا میرے خاوند اور ان کے بیٹے تو جج کے لیے چلے گئے اور مجھے چھوڑ گئے، حضور صلی اللہ دنیا و علیہ سلم نے فرمایا: رمضان میں عمرہ کرنا میرے ساتھ حج کرنے کے برابر ہے۔ (الترغیب)

احرام کا طریقہ اور آداب

جب آپ حج یا عمرہ کا احرام باندھیں تو پہلے یہ کام کریں:

(۱) سر کے بال سنواریں
، خط بنوائیں،
مونچھیں کتریں،
زیرناف بال اور بغل کے بال صاف کریں۔ (عدیة)
(۲) احرام کی نیت سے غسل کریں ورنہ کم از کم وضو کریں،
پھر سر اور داڑھی میں تیل لگائیں، کنگھا کریں،
جسم اور احرام کی چادروں پر ایسی خوشبو لگا ئیں جس کا دھو نہ لگے۔
مرد حضرات سلےہوئے کپڑے اُتار کر ایک سفید چادر ناف کے اوپر بطور تہبند باندھیں،
دوسری چادر اوڑھیں ، سر اور دونوں بازو ڈھک لیں اور ایسے جوتے چپل اُتار دیں جن کے سے پیروں کے پشت کی اُبھری ہوئی ہڈی چھپ جاتی ہو اور ہوائی چپل پہنیں جن میں مذکورہ ہڈی کھلی رہتی ہے
۔ خواتین سلے ہوئے کپڑے اور جوتے وغیرہ بدستور پہنے رہیں۔
اگر مکر وہ وقت نہ ہوتو احرام کی نیت سے سر ڈھک کر عام نفلوں کی طرح دو رکعت نفل پڑھیں۔ اگر پہلی رکعت میں الحمد شریف کے بعد سورہ کافرون پڑھیں اور دوسری رکعت میں قتل ہو اللہ احد پڑھیں تو بہتر ہے اور اگر مکر وہ وقت ہو تو بغیر دو رکعت نفل پڑھے عمرہ کی نیت کریں۔ (حیات)

عمرہ کی نیت

اب آپ اپنا سر کھولیں۔ البتہ دونوں کاندھے چادر سے ڈھکے رہنے دیں اور قبلہ رخ بیٹھ کر اس طرح عمرہ کی نیت کریں: “اے اللہ ! میں آپ کی رضا کے لیے عمرہ کا ارادہ کرتا ہوں۔ آپ اس کو میرے لیے آسان کر دیجئے اور قبول کر لیجئے ! ۔ (حیات) اس کے فوراً بعد عمرہ کے احرام کی نیت سے درمیانی آواز کے ساتھ تین مرتبہ لبیک کہیں، ”لبیک“ یہ ہے:

”لبيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَيْکَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ طَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ (حیات)

اس کے بعد ہلکی آواز سے درود شریف پڑھیں اور یہ دعا مانگیں : اے اللہ میں آپ سے آپ کی رضا اور جنت مانگتا ہوں اور آپ کی ناراضگی اور دوزخ سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور اس موقع پر سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جو جو دعائیں مانگیں یا بتلائی ہیں وہ بھی اگر ہوں سب میری طرف سے قبول فرما لیجئے ۔ “ (آمین)

احرام بندھ گیا، اب آپ تلبیہ کثرت سے پڑھیں کھڑے ہوئے، بیٹے ہوئے ، لیٹے ہوئے ، چلتے پھرتے ، اتر تے چڑھتے ، پاکی وناپا کی ہر حالت میں، خصوصا فرض نمازوں کے بعد بکثرت تلبیہ پڑھتے رہیں، مرد حضرات ذرا بلند آواز سے اور

خواتین آہستہ آواز سے پڑھیں ، پھر آہستہ آواز سے درود شریف پڑھ کر کوئی بھی دُعا ائیں اور تلبیہ جب بھی پڑھیں لگا تار تین مرتبہ پڑھیں ۔ (حیات وعندیہ )
